Who Can Join?

If you are:

  • 65 or over

  • Have fallen in the past 12 months or are concerned about falling

  • Are able to walk independently, with or without a stick

  • Live in the community (Not residential aged care)

  • Are cognitively intact (e.g. The absence of dementia or brain injury)

  • Do not have a progressive neurological condition

The session running time is 2 hours.


Cognitive Stimulation Therapy

for people with dementia

What You Will Learn

Reminiscence and Memory Recall: Sharing life experiences and stories.

Orientation: Gently connecting to time, place and current events.

Problem-solving and Decision-making: Encouraging flexible and practical thinking.

Language and Word Games: Promoting conversation and communication.

Creative and Physical Activities: Simulating the senses and self-expression.

Social connection and Confidence: Helping participants build friendships and feel more engaged.


Who Can Join?

The program runs two sessions per week, over 7 weeks.

The session running time is 1 hour.

CST is designed for:

  • People with mild to moderate dementia or memory difficulties

  • Those who enjoy conversation, creativity and group activities

  • People living in the community, residential care or attending day centres

  • Family members and carers are also encouraged to learn about the program and its benefits
